11 August 2008 - Customer Service position
With continued growth, Dirt Works Australia has a full-time Customer Service position available in our Sydney office.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Location:
Dirt Works Australia is located in scenic Blacktown in Sydney's western suburbs.
10 mins walking from Blacktown train station.
10 mins by bike from the M4.
10 mins by bike from the M7.

Dirt Works encourages cycle commuting and has showers, bicycle storage and a workshop on premises.

Job Responsibilities:
Answer sales calls and customer enquiries.
Manage relationship between customers and Dirt Works in a friendly, accurate, and efficient manner.
Enter phone, fax, and web orders into computer system.
Learn and understand the software used in the Customer Service Department.
Gain and retain technical knowledge of core products.
Communicate technical information with others in a professional, efficient manner.
Use the Dirt Works catalogue and outside media as reference tools.
Function as a supportive member of the Customer Service Department.
Receive, review and respond to sponsorship proposals.
Assist Marketing Manager with advertising of sponsored events.
Assist in the updating of Dirt Works website.
Organise logistics for sponsored events.
Attention to detail, ability to detect and resolve problems, excellent communication skills and low error rates in invoicing are critical.
Oversee Dirt Works shared calendar.
Organise and prepare documentation for meetings.
Act respectfully and considerately to fellow employees.
Contribute to other company projects as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Customer service experience.
Bicycle shop experience and/or technical knowledge of bicycles and bicycle components.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Excellent telephone, spoken and written communication skills.
Good computer literacy.
Ability to work within and meet deadlines.
Excellent attendance and work record.
Great attention to detail.
A desire to strive for efficiency and to work as part of a team to reach our goal of shipping all orders on time every day is needed.
Excellent attendance and timeliness are required along with self-motivation. Employees must be willing to occasionally work additional hours on peak days to get the job done - and still keep your sense of humour!

28th May 2008 - warehouse position.
THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.
Due to internal staff movement and continued growth, Dirt Works Australia has a full-time position available in our Sydney based Distribution Centre.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Job description:
Thorough (and ongoing) training is provided. Primary job responsibilities in the Shipping Department include carefully and accurately picking, packing and labelling our customers' orders in a timely and efficient manner. Employees must be alert to work flow and able to act independently to ensure all orders are completed efficiently. Attention to detail, ability to detect and resolve problems, excellent communication skills and low error rates in picking, packing and labelling are critical.

Desire to strive for efficiency and to work as part of a team to reach our goal of shipping all orders on time every day is needed. This job requires the ability to be on your feet for the duration of your shift, occasionally lift bulky and/or heavy items, and use warehouse equipment safely. Excellent attendance and timeliness are required along with self-motivation. Employees must be willing to occasionally work additional hours on peak days to get the job done - and still keep your sense of humor!

 26th September - Senior Sales Manager:
THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.
With continued growth, the approaching summer and a generally great season to date, Dirt Works Australia has a full-time position available for a Senior Sales Manager in our Sydney office.

Hours:
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. It is anticipated that the role will comprise approximately 2 days per week in the office and three outside.

Job Summary:
The Senior Sales Manager identifies and develops opportunities for sustainable growth and stronger dealer partnerships leading to increased profitability with their brands nationally.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop a full understanding of the demographics of their brand/market, including competition and inter-dealer relationships.
Develop and maximise intentional business relationships with specified brands.
Develop and meet product, account, and national sales goals.
Exercises situational awareness to maximise opportunities with dealers and reach goals.
Creates effective, mutually beneficial business solutions aimed at attaining goals and providing exceptional service to Dirt Works dealers.
Effectively schedules travel and events including dealer visits, dealer events and Dirt Works promotional events, and understands personal role at these events.
Active participation in sales meetings, offering quality input, suggestions and questions.
Contribute to other company projects as required.

Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills. It is anticipated that the applicant may be employed in the industry in this role currently (though not essential).
Strong computer skills. Including MYOB (or equivalent), Excel, Word, Outlook.
A high level of literacy and numeracy, including possession of excellent spoken and written communication skills; and the ability to generate and analyse sales and purchasing data.
Strong situational awareness.
Ability to multi-task.
Commitment to ongoing product training and education.
Able and willing to travel interstate.
Ability to work the occasional weekend and attend Dirt Works events.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Ability to build strong business relationships with all types of dealers.
Superior bicycle industry knowledge.

Retail experience a plus.
